Purchase your kit at /way tatooine -612 -1568 Compton Gold and Pawn
*Turn your kit into 3,750+ Mixed Tibanna Gas. No crafting experience needed.*
The big picture
Your kit has the tools, resources and subcomponents to run the Bespin Tailor crafting quest again and again. Each run, you craft 15 crates, hand them in, and get paid in Mixed Tibanna Gas. The better your crates, the more gas you earn. Here’s the whole plan:
Respec to a Domestic Goods Trader (Tailor).
Pick up the Tailor contract from Qeeln Gromb in Cloud City, Bespin.
Craft 15 crates with your kit, experimenting on each one.
Deliver the crates, collect your gas, and repeat until you hit 3,750.
Step 1: Respec to Tailor (Domestic Goods Trader)
You’ll do this at a Profession Counselor.
- Mos Eisley, Tatooine: `/wp tatooine 3532 -4788 Profession Counselor`
Changing profession
Talk to the Profession Counselor and pick the first dialog option (change profession).
Choose Trader, then the Domestic Goods specialization (this is the branch that includes Tailor).
Pick up the Tailor boxes in the Domestic Goods tree, and the Resource line in Expertise
Step 2: Pick up the contract in Cloud City
Travel to Bespin (Cloud City) and go to the Tibanna Prime Trader Guildhall.
Talk to Qeeln Gromb on the first floor: `/way -635 -108 Qeeln`
He offers two contracts based on your profession. Choose the **Tailor** one.
A temporary schematic called Crate of Manufactured Tailor Goods is added to your datapad.
Each time you accept, the game randomly assigns one of 10 ingredient combinations. You can’t pick which one. Your kit covers all 10, so don’t worry about it.
Step 3: Craft the crates
Where: the eastern crafting room on the same floor: `/way -575 -140`. This schematic is complex, so you must stand near a crafting station.
Tool: Clothing and Armor Crafting Tool (it’s in your kit). Find the schematic under **Clothing → Component → Crate of Manufactured Tailor Goods**.
Open the schematic and it will show you which items go in each slot. Match them to this chart. Use only the resources and subcomponents from your kit.
You’ll craft the schematic 15 times per contract. Every crate uses the same ingredients.
Step 4: Experiment (this is where the gas comes from)
Every crate pays at least 2 gas, and up to 8 if you experiment well. Experimenting is optional but worth it: it can quadruple your gas per crate.
How it works: each crate has two stats (called Quality 1 and Quality 2). Both are based on your resources’ Decay Resistance (DR) and Overall Quality (OQ). The kit’s resources were chosen with this in mind. Experimenting pushes each stat’s percentage up, and the percentage decides your payout:
- Quality 1 91% or more and Quality 2 60% or more: 8 gas per crate
- Quality 1 91% or more and Quality 2 57% or less: 7 gas per crate
- Quality 1 80% or more and Quality 2 80% or more: 8 gas per crate
- Quality 1 80% or more and Quality 2 60% or more: 6 gas per crate
- Quality 1 80% or more and Quality 2 59% or less: 5 gas per crate
- Quality 1 60% or more and Quality 2 60% or more: 4 gas per crate
- Quality 1 60% or more and Quality 2 59% or less: 3 gas per crate
- Quality 1 Under 60% and Quality 2 Under 60%: 2 gas per crate
The best way to experiment
Your goal: get Quality 1 to 91% or higher. That locks in 7 gas per crate. If Quality 2 also finishes at 60% or more, that crate pays 8.
Why this route: with the kit’s resources and a normal number of experimentation points, you often can’t get both stats to 80%, and missing that drops you to just 6 gas. Pushing one stat to 91% is far more reliable, and it still pays 7 even if Quality 2 stays low.
Add your ingredients, then continue until the crafting tool offers the Experiment button. Click it.
Note your experimentation points, both stats’ starting percentages.
Put points into Quality 1 only, filling up the bar. Click Run Experiment! and check the new percentage.
Continue to experiment one point at a time until Quality 1 is at 91% or more. Going higher pays nothing extra.
Spend any points you have left on Quality 2. If it reaches 60% or more, the crate pays 8. If not, you still get 7.
Click through to Create Prototype to finish the crate.
What to expect: 7 is the most common result, with some 8s sprinkled in. An 8 depends on Quality 2 reaching 60%, which comes down to your resources and how many points you have left after Quality 1. That’s normal, and 7s alone still get you to 3,750.
TIPS
- A crafting suit with Clothing Experimentation 8 baked into the exotics, and at least 450 luck helps. The exotics give you more experimentation points, which allows you to experiment more and get more crates per craft.
- Get an ent buff with Amazing Success Chance and Go With The Flow
- If you have any of the "Experienced..." jewelry sets already, equip it. They all have an additional 6% Amazing Success Chance and the class specific buffs aren't relevant for these quests.
- You can use Bespin Port for every experimentation to slightly boost amazing success chance but this blows through a ton of it for a small boost and probably isn't worth it.
- You also can be a citizen in a city with an experimentation boost to get a small increase, but then you have to travel back and forth to the city to get the bonus. Also probably not worth it.
Step 5: Deliver and repeat
After crafting all 15 crates, go to Marcedwi Sundpet: `/way -571 -130 Marcedwi`
Click and drag each crate from your inventory onto him. The quest completes when the last one is delivered.
You receive 142,005 XP, 10,000 credits, and 40 Mixed Tibanna Gas, plus the bonus gas from your crates.
How many runs do you need?
Each run pays 40 gas for finishing, plus your per-crate gas for 15 crates.
Most crates will land at 7, with some 8s, so plan on about 25 runs.
