In addition to expertise, equipment, and jewelry, several consumables and temporary buffs can further optimize weapon crafting performance. These bonuses are particularly valuable when attempting to achieve the Amazing Successes necessary to produce capped weapon cores and skins.
The recommended setup focuses on maximizing Luck and improving experimentation outcomes through a combination of familiars, Power-Ups, spice, and food. You truly can choose how you get to that 450 Luck cap.
Entertainer Buffs
You have a few options for entertainer buffs depending on your present stats. The one stat you will always ask for if you are crafting weapons or weapon components is Amazing Success Chance, this is absolutely critical. This will use 10 of the available 20 points for the Entertainer buff. For the remaining 10 its really up to you as long as you already have every other stat capped that we've talked about in this guide. You could put 10 points in Luck (if you have little Luck), you could put the points into Movement Speed (which is what I do personally), you could put the points into Harvest Faire if you are about to place harvesters, you could put the points into Hand Sampling if you're about to go collect resources.
Luck Familiar
A Luck familiar is an important option to any optimized Weaponsmith setup.
The YT-1300 Familiar is the preferred option for this guide if you want to get your Luck bonus through a familiar.
While other familiars offering Luck bonuses may be used, the YT-1300 is the recommended choice.
Make sure your familiar is summoned and its bonus is active before beginning any important crafting attempts.
Luck Power-Ups
Luck Power-Ups (PUPs) provide another way to increase your Luck during crafting.
With the recommended armor configuration, expertise, and other bonuses, it is possible that your Luck is already at or above the commonly reported effective crafting cap of 450 as I've previously mentioned.
As a result, Luck Power-Ups may be redundant/useless depending on your existing statistics.
Nevertheless, they remain an option for traders who have not yet reached the hard-cap.
If your Luck is already capped, additional Power-Ups will provide no further benefit. Keep this in mind when deciding whether the additional expense is worthwhile.
Glimmerdust Spice
Glimmerdust is the recommended spice for this crafting configuration because of its Luck bonus. (if picking this as your Luck generating buff). It gives +150 Luck & lasts for 15-minutes.
Used in conjunction with your Luck familiar, armor, and Power-Ups, Glimmerdust helps you easily get to that 450 Luck cap.
Because achieving Amazing Successes is central to producing capped cores and skins, maximizing Luck is a priority throughout the crafting process.
Be sure to activate Glimmerdust before beginning your crafting session and monitor its remaining duration to avoid losing the buff during an important experimentation attempt.
As with Luck Power-Ups, additional Luck beyond the effective crafting cap may not provide further benefits.
City Expertise
It is imperative that you become a resident of a city with expertise in the Resarch Center field, which gives 5% Experimentation Increase per point up to 15%.
Bespin Port
Bespin Port is one of the most important consumables in this guide, as it improves the likelihood of favorable experimentation outcomes.
Unlike Luck buffs, which contribute to your overall crafting setup, Bespin Port should be used strategically during the experimentation process.
For our three-roll method, Bespin Port is especially valuable on the first and third rolls, where obtaining Amazing Successes is critical to producing a capped weapon core or skin.
Recommended Bespin Port Usage
| Experimentation Roll | Bespin Port | Reason |
|---|
| Roll 1 — Maximum Damage | Yes | Amazing Success required |
| Roll 2 — Final Maximum Damage box | No | Only one box; Great or Amazing Success is sufficient |
| Roll 3 — Minimum Damage | Yes | Amazing Success required |
The goal is to use Bespin Port when experimenting with multiple boxes, where the result can have a significant impact on the finished component.
What If the First Roll Is Not an Amazing Success?
If the first Maximum Damage roll does not produce an Amazing Success, the ideal three-roll method has already been disrupted.
However, if you decide to continue experimenting rather than abandon the attempt, Bespin Port should still be used on any subsequent roll involving more than one experimentation box.
For single-box rolls, Bespin Port is generally unnecessary under this method because either a Great Success or an Amazing Success can provide the desired result.
This approach prioritizes using Bespin Port where it has the greatest potential benefit while avoiding unnecessary consumption.
Recommended Crafting Buff Checklist
Before beginning a serious crafting session, make sure the following are in place:
-
Luck Familiar: YT-1300 preferred, summoned and active.
-
Luck Power-Ups: Equipped if additional Luck is needed.
-
Glimmerdust: Active for its Luck bonus (if needed).
-
Bespin Port: Available for all important multi-box experimentation rolls.
-
Crafting Equipment: Luck armor (if needed), Weaponsmith exotic modifiers on Chestplate, Shirt, and Weapon, and Weaponsmith's Toolkit equipped (if wanted).
-
Jewelry: Experienced Munitions set equipped
Final Considerations
The purpose of this buff configuration is to improve crafting consistency while minimizing unnecessary expenses.
Although consumables can improve the likelihood of favorable outcomes, they do not guarantee Amazing Successes. Producing capped weapon cores and skins still requires appropriate resources, components, and successful experimentation rolls.
Luck bonuses should be maintained at their effective maximum, while Bespin Port should be prioritized for the experimentation attempts where its benefits matter most.
The objective is to maximize the chance of Amazing Successes on the first and third experimentation rolls, conserve consumables when they are unnecessary, and improve the overall consistency of capped weapon production.
